The beads I use are made of many materials, from clay in Africa, a peace corps friend picked up for me in the 80's; vintage crystal from the 20's; glass beads from China, India, and Italy; silver from Bali, India, Thailand, and Turkey; and stones from around the globe. I've been very lucky to have traveled and I hit every bead store I can find...much to the dismay of my husband, Neal. My jewelry is made with Abalone, Agate, African Trade beads, Amethyst, Amazonite, Apatite, Azurite malachite, Bali silver, Blackstone, Brass, Carnelian, Chrysocolla, Chrysoprase, Citrine, Cloisonné, Coral, Copper, Crystal, Czech glass, Dalmatian Jasper, Found Items, Garnet, Glass, 14K Gold, 14K Gold plate, Hematite, Indian Silver, Jade, Jasper, Labradorite, Lapis Lazuli, Lucite, Malachite, Marble, Onyx, Pearl, Peridot, Quartz, Rhodochrosite, Rhodolite, Sea Glass, Serpentine, Shell, Sterling Silver, Swarovski Crystals, Thai Silver, Tiger's Eye, Turkish Silver, Turquoise, Vermeil, Vintage Crystal, Wood. I like color - be it nature, stones, gems, fabric. I bead in my dining room where I have great light and a huge surface to work. I keep my beads in 4 inch bags, but then there may be 40 varieties of 4 inch bags in a one gallon ziplock bag, which will house only one color of beads. Hense I have a bag of red, blue, green, pink, turquoise, gold, black, pearl, stone, chips, sterling… you get the idea. All the designs and color combinations are my own. I rarely make a piece a second time. I want my jewelry to be unique and one of a kind, so when you purchase it whether you live in Bermuda, Sparta, NJ, Toronto, Canada or Springfield, VA you won’t see someone else walking down the street in your jewelry!
